Overview

Coreum is a third-generation, enterprise-grade Layer-1 blockchain infrastructure designed to simplify the tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs) for institutional use by embedding business and compliance logic at the asset issuance level. Purpose-built for capital markets and decentralized applications, Coreum features ISO 20022 compatibility, IBC interoperability, and advanced Smart Tokens. It leverages a Bonded Proof-of-Stake (BPoS) consensus mechanism to process up to 7,000 transactions per second, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient operations. The platform enables the creation of native tokens with customizable compliance properties such as minting rights, burning, freezing, whitelisting, clawbacks, and interchain functionality. Smart contracts are powered by WebAssembly (WASM), offering higher security, portability, and broader programming language support compared to traditional engines like EVM.
