Overview

Router Protocol is a layer 1 blockchain built on the Cosmos SDK with a focus on interoperability. It utilizes tendermint’s Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus engine and incorporates features such as CosmWasm and Ethermint for smart contract functionality. Notably, Router supports a trustless network of relayers, enabling secure and decentralized interaction between contracts on different chains. With a decentralized trust-based approach, Router V2 introduces middleware contracts for custom business logic in the bridging layer. It serves as a data aggregation layer, allowing developers to implement custom security measures and choose between stateful and stateless infrastructure for cross-chain applications. Router Protocol also includes an inbuilt asset-swapping engine and offers a unique cross-chain meta-transaction capability in its V2 release.
