Overview

Ravencoin is a peer-to-peer blockchain platform designed specifically for the efficient creation, management, and transfer of digital assets from one party to another. Launched on January 3, 2018, and built as a fork of Bitcoin's code, Ravencoin incorporates significant modifications to support asset issuance and tracking while maintaining decentralization and security. It uses the UTXO model like Bitcoin but diverges in its core purpose, focusing on tokenization rather than serving as a generic payment system. Ravencoin allows users to create tokens with customizable properties, including limited quantity, unique names, and applicability as securities, collectibles, or ownership representations. The platform supports a range of advanced features such as voting mechanisms for token holders, messaging between issuers and holders, and the creation of unique tokens similar to NFTs. Ravencoin employs the KAWPOW mining algorithm, which is designed to be ASIC-resistant and GPU-friendly, encouraging broader participation in mining. With a fair launch that included no ICO, pre-mine, or developer allocation, Ravencoin is a fully open-source and community-driven project aiming to provide a transparent, secure, and tamper-resistant network for asset transfer.
